Woven in western Persia, the Hamadan region is known for its geometric designs and more sombre, earthy colours. This antique piece features an all-over arrangement of stylised geometric boteh motifs, creating a pattern that feels both rhythmic and quietly intricate.
Rather than a central medallion, the boteh carries the design across the entire field in rows, giving the carpet a distinctly traditional village character.
